Hey guys! Got inspired by the post below!

What would you think, would be the best amp for a 'Classic' tele, with a humbucker in the neck, or just another single coil? Bring on the (non country) twang! :P

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I love vox type amps with tele's
Playing through a vintage (late 60's i think) AC30 of my dads sounds great and u can hear vast differences between different tele's and gives great chunk and twang.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I personally like the sound of an old MusicMan 65 or a red knob Dual Showman/Twin with a Tele, though, I'm sure many won't agree.

I honestly regret not saving up for either of those.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Fender amps - Keith Richards, Roy Buchanan and Albert Collins got it right.
Jeff Beck makes wonders with an Esquire through a Marshall though...

So you can get interesting results from anything.

Hmmm keith always said Leo was great with him to match up his tele/amps. Although..i could fake it. I'm thinking, getting the tweed 20w traynor..its got a bright switch thats gets it halfway to fender....has a greenback in there, maybe if i put in a jensen speaker and some jj's hmmm

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Fencer Vibrolux Reverb...or Deluxe Reverb

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

iwas just reading an article on Pete Townshend's home studios in EQ magazine and in it he says he uses a 56 tele into an old Fender Deluxe..... he says he adds nothing and takes nothing away... says it is "orgasmic"....

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

How is the combination Blues Junior with a Tele? I might be looking at getting one eventually, is why I ask.

Ummm, what tweed Traynor? If there is one, I need to know about this! : popworm:

Fencer Vibrolux Reverb...or Deluxe Reverb

Yep! Lew hit the nail on the head. Blackface Fenders and Telecasters were made for each other. I love my Vibrolux Reverb and Barden loaded Tele!!!!

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Personally I like Peavey Classic 50's the best for my Tele. Having both a pre and post gain let's you set it just right. The 4-10 cab although lacking in bass really cuts thru like nothing else.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I have one of the ultimate tele amps: Victoria Double Deluxe. Think tweed deluxe with 20 extra watts and 2 12s.

As have been mentioned, deluxe reverbs, vibrolux revers and AC30 are great tele amps too. My mesa Blue Angel also mates well with my tele, and I've got great tones out the 65 london and soho...

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Pedal wise am they seem to work with alot as long as it doesnt cut too much mids or boost too much real high end (why drive pedals work well in conjunction with an eq) but i find different teles (ash vs alder, rosewood vs maple, 60's style pickups vs 50's style pickups etc) respond different to pedals. But i think something with a slight mid boost tends to sound good or flat eq. If wanted a metal scooped tone something with some low mids is better.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

What I love about the telecaster that it's such a responsive guitar, I guess it's the pickups construction and the simplicity of the guitar that make it so sensitive to picking dynamics and gear changes...
