Best amp you've ever played through?

Once again G.J. you make me sick! :)

Best amp that I've personally ever played thru is my JCM800, which is why I bought it. It's the sound I've had in my head since I started playing guitar, ya know?

After playing this amp, I think my search for an amp is complete...until the day I change my musical direction - the MESA/Boogie Single Rectifier.

My Mesa MK II c+ with the EV 200 watt speaker. THe cleans are beautiful and articulate the overdrive is smooth and balanced. The sound is punchy but not edgey. Love it.

Rivera Suprema 55 voodoo mod, had the best sound I've ever played. 2nd I have to say a Bad Cat Hot cat 30, that thing has a very warm tone lots of bottom end. 3rd Bogner Shiva w/ EL34......

I can't pick one amp, but I can narrow it down to two...

1. My Marshall Jubilee 2555
2. KT-66 modded Soldano Decatone

I'm fortunate to own some of my favorite amps I've ever played:

'66 Deluxe Reverb with Celestion G12H30
'59 Deluxe with Vox/Celestion Silver Bulldog
'59 Bassman with four Jensen P10R's...a REAL one.
'51 Super with two 10's: one '56 Jensen P10R and one '66 C10N

Vox AC-30 with two Vox/Celestion Blues...best soloing tone I've ever had, but to loud and heavy. I sold it...but my old Fenders can all do just about the same thing.

I like to play in stereo through two 18 to 22 watt amps: two Deluxes or one Deluxe and one Super or two Deluxe Reverbs.

I still can't believe you got that original 59 Bassman for $2000.
That's a 1980 vintage price for that amp! Now, they're around
$5000 +- By the time you decide to sell it, you'll fetch $12,000

I want it!

I played an old Fender Deluxe Reverb in a pawn shop a long time ago.. it was true beauty of sound :D

My new Plexi RI is no slouch either. It's inspiring me to be a better player.. the better I get, the better it will sound, especially after some custom tailored mods :D

While not my favorite sounding amp, my friend has a 64 AC30 TB that was restored by the talents at the Plexi Palace. Beautiful amp. I like my 3 amps better tonally but that AC30 was built with love.

That was, indeed a blessing. :D Like the morning I woke up, checked my ebay auctions and favorite searches and found a '51 Super for $1000! I grabbed it. Those deals are there if you look every morning and are ready to buy. :D But it'll be a long, long time before I sell my favorite amps. Probably, it'll be my wife who sells them...she'll doubtless outlive me! :D Lew

Hmm a few actually.
A modded Park75....it spat those tones out in a ferocious manner...
Hiwatt DR103...awesome tone.
Marshall SLP 1968..through and old 4x12 greenback cab..basket.
Fender Bassman...about 1960 or something, tweed.
Fender Bandmaster ca 1959...CRUUUUUUNCH!!!:D
A special made small amphead, called Der kleine böse kellerschwein....gods what a tonemonster with the overdrive from blazing hot hell.
1987 Plexi Marshall head...sweet machine.
Those are the amps I remember the best, so their tones must have been something;) :p

I'd say my Soldano....but....I haven't had that many opportunities to try higher end amps. Mostly the amps I've tried have been limited to what's at Guitar Centers in the Philly area.
