Re: Best bang-for-buck acoustic electric?
UPDATE :
Played a few guitars at the store.
- I didn't like the Ovations as much as I thought I would. The ones in my price range lacked low end projection.
- Art & Lutherie, and Simon Patrick are really nice guitars, I had played them before, and they don't disappoint.
- Could not find a Yamaha that I liked. The plastic feel things again.
- Takamine was the surprise of the day! Holy crap! For the price, what an amazing instrument!
So a day after that, an old friend views one of my adds online, about looking for an acoustic, and calls me to offer up a G series Takamine for a really good deal. I ask him about the guitar, and he tells me it's real nice, and he hand picked it. I really, really trust this guy, so I decided to go with this option.
It's a G series, not sure what model, but it is acoustic electric, with a cut-away, and is black gloss. I am meeting with him later this week, and will be the happy new owner of a Takamine, a brand of guitar I had only tried once in the last 10 years or so.
