I need a replacement pickup for my Aria Pro II SB1000. The string spacing on this bass is very narrow, being only 16mm between strings at the bridge end. In fact, the strings run virtually parallel from nut to bridge.
I'd like to put in a musicman style pickup, but I'm not sure how important it is for the polepieces to line up with the strings. The original pickup was a fairly large soapbar, so I'm not short on space.
Any recommendations?
