Thx and sorry for the many questions.... :smack:

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

Yup - get the lightweight aluminum locking TonePro's set. IMO that's as good as it gets.

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

You might have to do a little mod to your guitar (I'm not sure, I dont own an epi, but this issue has come up before) because the USA models are on standard, and the epis and what not are on metric.

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

not only does tonepros make the best stuff out there, but they have the best customer service in the world!!! I am not kidding! they custom made me a bridge for my PRS FOR FREE!, they sent me the first prototype of another bridge, and then on my LP when Heritage did something wrong, TonePros sent me a replacement EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!! They rule in a most serious way. I almost want to break my bridge so I can talk with them some more. Look for their vintage aluminum bridge it's supasweet!

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

I don't believe the Tone Pros are aluminum, are they??? I was told they are zinc! Anyway...I went with a Pigtail music aluminum tail for my LP and it added a lot to the tone and works great! Oh, it's aluminum.

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

I've just left the stock hardware on my Gibsons, since it all seems fine, but on my PRS McCarty, I bought the Tonepros adjustable wraparound bridge. It totally blows away the stock PRS one and adds sustain. Turned it into a NEW guitar.

I agree with Kaknight. Tonepros has the best customer service I've ever encountered. I had a small complaint about one of my bolts. They overnighted me a whole new bridge. They rule!!!!!

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

If you want the best vintage tone possible, then get an aluminum tailpiece. I keep them in stock. The Gotoh is just fine and alot less expensive than the one Gibson offers. If you want a more solid and deeper tone than vintage, than go for a Tone Pro's set. Also: Pigtail Music is starting to offer items similar to the Tone Pros stuff in featherweight aluminum. Steve Rowen is the machinist who came up with all the dies and fixtures for Tone Pros and he now has gone into biz for himself. http://www.pigtailmusic.com/

Re: Best bridge/tailpiece for LP???

Lew, you feel the TonePros would offer a more solid and deeper tone than the aluminum tale piece? I was told the Tone Pros is brass like the PRS. This was received from PRS customer support. I think I'll end up ordering the Tone Pros bridge since it is locking which is a nice feature! Worth the extra cost. I believe Steve can also do the locking tail but not sure about the bridge.

I have a Pigtail tail piece from Steve on my LP but I have issues with the bridge since it doesn't lock. I notice that even in chaging one string at a time...the saddles tend to move a little. Does the locking bridge fix this??

Lew, what are the main tonal differences from the aluminum tail and the Tone Pros tail which is supposed cheap zinc like the stock Gibson!

Gearjonser,
Is your TonePros bridge the adjustable version? It doesn't appear to be from your website.
