Best CLEAN amp you've ever played through?

i don't have much say, i haven't played through too many amps.

pretty soon i'm getting a DSL, killer amps, but they don't have the clean tones i'm looking for. so i'm going to buy a good clean amp later on so i can get the best of both worlds.

so, what's the best CLEAN sounding amp you've ever played through?

(not the best you've ever heard.. but actually played through)

Fender BF Showman.
It is a twin without the reverb.
Awesome clean tones.
And a DR201 plus DR103..Hiwatt's are great.

My mesa boogie .50 caliber + has awesome cleans, the best ive played through.

Others ive played through with nice cleans have been fender hot rods, namely the 112 deluxe and 212 deville. Also a marshall DSL head i played through actually surprisingly had some pretty decent cleans, so be sure to experiment around with this amp when you get it.

Then a gibson goldtone 112 combo was nice, but not as nice as the mesa caliber. The caliber really has great cleans, thats what a bought it for. A lot of people will swear by fender combo cleans, and they're not wrong they sound terrific, but check out little mesa 1x12 combos too theyve got some awesome cleans stuff. Also check out an ENGL screamer combo, marin owns one and his clips with it have amazing cleans!

any bassman ive played is just great, so smooth and warm.......my twin is kinda bright but has such wonderful cleans also......and as Rid said, my DR103 is great clean also, although a little rougher, punchy, and very very warm sounding.....

For me it was one of the Top Hat combos that I bought from Sam Ash..I returned it once I found out what a 1 trick pony it would have been..It didn't take well to any pedals in front of it so I returned it...It had a great tone and I remember it had 1 Celestion V30 and 1 Jensen...Both were 12s...It was pretty pricey also..

the cleans were nice, they just seemed tight to me. too punchy, more aggressive clean tones.

i'm looking more open, bluesy sounds.

I think mine was the Club Royale model...33 watt,Class A and with 2x12s...Link below..Mine had 1 Jensen and 1 V30 though I remember for sure!

It was a Hiwatt, stack, but please don´t ask me which one. Too far back for me to still know....

But the Fender Twin comes a close second for me

the cleanest

my personal favorite setup for clean is my friends fender hot rod deluxe (1X12) with a 2X12 cab below it for a bit more sound when a 1X12 and 40 watts wont cut it. (on a side note imthinking about having him wire up my rig in a similar way).

the 2X12 fender hot rod deville really sparkles as well. as do *most* fender amps.

I really love the cleans on my bassman... however, my moms vibrochamp gets my first vote. Very smooth, chimey, and you can ad in some of that GORGEOUS tremolo... yummy.

My Traynor YGL Mark III 2x12 combo!!! Essentially a Fender Twin Reverb but with EL34's...can you say C L E A N and L O U D!

My buddy's Roland Jazz Chorus is awesome. I think the only "tonal" advantage of a solid state amp is playing clean and this one does it pretty damn good.

The Mesa Blue Angel...it does clean only, unless you turn it up real loud. The reverb is glorious too.

The best cleans I've really heard are through a Fender Twin RI, Fender Bassman RI, and my vintage 1970 Fender Vibrolux Reverb at low volumes.
