hey guys.... im lookin to get one of those Agile Les Paul Prestige guitars.... its all mahogany with ebony fretboard...
im lookin for a humbucker set that sounds good for articulate warm and smoky clean sounds..... kind of a nice clean bark in the bridge position with not too much treble....... and that deep juicy sound from the neck, similar to what Jimmy Page got on the "Bring it on home" intro......very deep and juicy bass, but not muddy
im thinkin maybe a Seth Lover bridge raised up kinda high on the bass side (i like it this way)...... and not sure about the neck pickup, maybe jazz or 59
i will use this combo to play mostly clean stuff, some blues and classic rock (allman brothers to BB king) and some more spacy chimey clean stuff like U2
mostly just want very good articulation and response.....nothin too punchy or percussive like a strat........warmth and with a little bit of bark i suppose
ive never played a les paul neck pickup i didnt like (gibson, or epiphone) so pretty much anything might work in the neck for me, just want to make sure it doesnt have too much bass or muddy bass.....
but i have played a couple epis that had way too much treble on the bridge pickup, and not enough bark
so what do you guys think? i think either Seth/59 or Seth/jazz perhaps?
