Best colour for '67 Flying V?

I've got a Gibson faded V in the '67 style. Not really a fan of the factory red stain look - i've been planning to respray it in late Feb when summer is in full swing (g'day from Australia). The plan all along has been to spray it white, but i'm now wondering if there's better options... colours that really made a V pop... whether tastefully conservative or boldly in-yo-face.

What do you guys think is the best colour for a '67 style V?

White w/ white accessories.... Pickups, rings, speed knobs, switch tip, etc.

Are you looking for a color Gibson has used or anything? Personally I like most (if not all) colors so it's hard for me to choose. You must also decide what type of color you want like solid, metallic, flake, transparent etc. Black is classic but I prefer it with white bound neck & body for contrast. White is also classic but nothing new...
Check the "rare" Gibson colors Inverness Green and Pelham Blue. I really like the British Racing Green, a metallic dark green that makes any guitar stand out.

Pick a winning race car from 1967 Like Richard Petty Blue for his 10 NASCAR wins that year or the winner from LeMans. Search it out. Petty Blue is 3 parts Blue and 1 part White. The LeMans winners were Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt driving the Ford MkIV like the one on the top photo in the second link.

My 69 was white but Gibson guitars (painted white) back then changed colors so it became that off white cream color , much better then white. Like Randy Rhoads Les Paul Custom if you want an example.

I was thinking white mainly because I think it's the best factory colour for a V, but my shed isn't Kalamazoo so any colour is potentially possible. But by chance all my classics are in that pale/neutral/natural shade of colouring - aged olympic white, butterscotch, natural maple... maybe I should continue the theme... hmm...

I'm not sure i'll go too far out there (I tend to think loud or wild colour schemes are best suited to modern shapes), but I think a V could wear a daphne blue, seafoam green, a turquoise/teal, or even silver sparkle quite well.

Tough call. I have a genuine first world problem on my hands here

I've always wanted to do one in antique natural or a natural burst with a black pickguard and nickel or chrome covered pickups and hardware

Ok seafoam and white or parchment plastic would be sweet. But I've always liked TattooedCarrot's V. I think his is like an ivory or aged white with black plastic. I think the reverse would be cool too with a black or gunmetal gray paintjob, and aged white plastic. It's pretty tough to make a V look bad to me though. Have fun with it!

I think a black V always looks good, with black pickguard. If dark isn't your thing paint it a blue like the colour of this forum, and then put black 'tiger stripes' on it. Understated colours yet strangely in your face at the same time. If you really want to go to town a subtle metallic effect would be cool in the black stripes, so that the guitar gently sparkles when hit by light at the right angle.

Petty Blue or Turquoise Blue with Safety Orange Accents along the edges, a White Guard, a 2 inch round white disc on the upper wing with Block number "67", Chrome hardware, Black hat box knobs, and a Black toggle switch cover sounds like a winner to me.

In recent years, Gibson has done bullion gold on a Firebird and SG, where you can see the raw woodgrain through it. It looked great on those, so if I were to get a satin V, I'd do gold.

Also, every color combo of pickup looks good over gold....black, zebra, nickel, gold covered.

Metallic purple is nice ! Was going to paint my Strat like that but much darker and less metal flake. Always liked the Schenker V's half and half black and white.

I've got a Gothic V: satin black, black hardware and pickguard which I still like a lot for a V.
Bullion gold looks tops too, but I'd personally go for a natural finish with black pickguard and chrome hardware (probably change the truss rod cover to black too). Simple and classy look imo.
