Just Ultimate Slacker
So I havent ever been unhappy with my pod farm sound for recordings, but it isnt a vst so I cant change any settings after recording it. At one time I could get the vst license for $30-$40 but didnt. I dont know if that is still available or not. So here is the question.
What is the best cheap / Free VSt sim? I need a JCM 800 tone and a Marshall jump lead tone (these are the 2 I use in pod farm)
I could use Amplitube free (has the 800) and add the superlead for $20
POD farm free has the 800, but to get the superlead (or jump) you have to get the pay version for $99
Guitar rig has the jump, but the pro version (to get the 800) looks like it is not cheap.
What other free / cheap VST sims do a good job on these 2 models?
How is amplitube? Is it as good or better than POD farm? I dont mind paying the $20 if it will do what I need and sound good. If whatever I pick is going to be $100+ I will just keep what I have.
I thought about doing 2 different sims (like GR for the jump and amplitube or POD farm for the 800) but I am sure my PC might choke with 2 sims running.
