I would have to agree with a Fernandez, but only for sharp keys. Since the inlays are mostly on odd number frets, those are the only keys I solo in.

Fender Strat with SSL-1 pickups. This vintage guitar/sound carried the 50's, 60's and lots of music in the 70's. Great if you are a real player and not just into volume (not hot pups....tone is quality here). Great for funk/R&B and classic rock!

If you were to play acoustic guitar you'd see many of the pro strummers play Martins. But go just halfway and play an Alvarez.....then pick up a Taylor and see if you don't notice a decent improvement. Don't bring a diesel engine to a Formula 1 race.......there is a difference.
Single coils are used lots for strumming and still hard to beat a Fender Strat for anything. Get the one you can most comfortably afford, but get the best you can and enjoy for life.
