Best guitar wall hangers?

My wife and I will be getting a new puppy soon and I need to get a few guitars off the floor.

Will need to hang 1 Jazz, 1 tele, 1 classical, and 1 steel string acoustic.

Will be hanging on drywall (circa 1930 apartment).

Any suggestions would be appreciated; have never used these.

They come with drywall anchors

I wouldn't trust the drywall itself to hang a guitar

I would try to find a stud

Or get a one by six long enough to span several studs

Mount it to the studs then hangers to the one by

Stain the wood to match or contrast

Mine are mounted 18 inches down from the ceiling
Which I find clears the chairs and such

Thanks, ehdwuld. Yes--I'll locate the stud. The heaviest one (the bass) will go on a wall where there's already a massive mirror hanging, so that'll help me find it.

With a place that old you sure its drywall and not plaster? Definitely use an anchor or as youve done, find a stud, esp if the walls are plaster

You're right--it's likely plaster now that I think about it. I have home theater speakers mounted plus that really heavy mirror I mentioned, so I'm sure it can be done. Thanks.

My old house had plaster walls throughout most of the house and made it very hard to hang amything, even pictures. Had to predrill any hole before I drove a nail or the plaster would crumble around the nail as I drove it in.

I use the Off the Wall hangers. They look cool, too. Finding a stud is the best thing, anchors 2nd best.

With the Hercules mounts, Floyd Rose nuts can be cumbersome. From my experience.

Thanks, Mincer. I'll have a look. The plaster walls are the reason I've resisted doing this for years. but now I'll have to figure it out.

If you cant find a stud to attach the hanger, use toggle bolts instead of the anchor. That may help.

I use string swing it supports your guitar by the body and the neck. Instead of just the headstock.

Is there any real difference between these two?

I've got very limited wall space and with one hanger I'd like to be able to usually hang a Tele but at times a classical acoustic.

Will either of these be OK for both?

I got over my fear of hanging these on plaster: This past weekend I hung a flatscreen TV using anchors and it went very well. That wall isn't like some of the walls in this place where the plaster crumbles.
