So SuperD or ToneZone. I call tone Zone because warmer/thicker IMO.

So the Super Distortion is working great. I don't know all the jargon to give a description about how it sounds, but so far it's doing an excellent job keeping up across the different genres I've been throwing at it. We will have to see how it does in a group setting, but I suspect it will be fine.

I may end up looking at some other options at some point, but for now, this is doing really great, and for $15 will be tough to beat

As much as I am a Seymour Duncan fanboy, I do have one guitar with a Super Distortion. If someone has multiple guitars, that pickup should be somewhere in the lineup.

Hah, I've completely forgotten about Rio. Yeah, they should work for this, BBQ or even Muy Grande. Both are very thick high inductance pickups.

Rio Grande pickups were "down" for a bit but they're apparently back in business now. I emailed them for a pickup ID in 2022? and just got a reply. Apparently the owner passed away in 2022 and the landlord locked everything up so no one was able to get into the building or anything. The computer system was also inaccessible. Sometime last year, they were able to get back into the building to go back to work. And I guess they finally got to my email? I had no idea about any of that.

Yes, sadly, Dave Wintz passed in 2022, but the Facebook page went live in January, so I think that Bart is still winding their pickups. I was very impressed with the Muy and BBQ humbuckers so it is nice to see them operating.

Custom Custom (Custom with A2 magnet) is the warmest and fattest I am aware of. But it might be over the top.

Does the guitar have a tremolo? What kind of bridge does it carry?
