Best Humbucker Combo for Splitting/Phasing?

Hey guys,

I got a sick 1993 All-Koa Carvin DC-200, and it come with their active/passive pickup switching. It's not a very good system, and their pickups suck, but I figured I would make use of all the switches it has :) I want to get as many tones out of this sucker as possible. It has 4 knobs, a 3-way selector switch, and 3 mini On/Off toggle switches, so that should be plenty of stuff for 2 humbuckers.

I am wondering which two SD (or ANY brand for that matter) pickups would be good for the job of splitting, phasing, series, parallel and just about any other combination you can do with them. I want a range that goes from a smooth clean (humbucker) to a glassy snappy clean (split), to a thicker rounded sound. For distortion, anything from a hollowed tone to a thick, meaty rhythm, and soaring type lead would work. I doubt I will need a super high output because I got other guitars for metal. Heres a picture of the guitar, any help would be appreciated!

I think a Jazz Neck or 59 Neck and a JB Bridge would sound excellant for what you have in mind. You'll need a 4 conductor 59N....stock is single conductor like a vintage Gibson paf the 59 is based on.

I do stock the 4 conductor version of the 59 tho.

The Jazz and JB come 4 conductor stock.
