Yeah, the JS neck is wonderful. Now you can get a JS Premium, which is MII, and looks pretty damn good for the price.

I saw that Premium model... what's the difference between that JS24P and a JS2400? I checked the specs and it wasn't immediately apparent what the diff was.

^^ The Premium has a Pro Track neck pu; 2400 has a Chopper. Neck of 24 is a bit different too - bigger bubinga centre strip (like on late 90s RGs) and KTS titanium rod. Apart from that, they're essentially the same.

I like the original Floyd except that it isn't low profile. That bothers me. Beyond that, I feel like I can do more with it than my second choice- Ibanez Edge LoPro. I have a Floyd Pro also but the feel isn't quite the same as the OFR.

Floyd Rose.

Have many German. A few Korean. Even a FR Special. All work fine when set up maintain properly.

Also have a Gotoh and its fine too.

Have a few of the Schaller OEM and I find the saddles can be problematic, but the unit overall is fine.

There is a TRS on an Ibby and a Tacameuchi (sp?) on a Wasburn and those have been working out for years.

Some are better than others and some have a better feel. It all depends. They the job done for regular playing. When I do any hardcore Vai/Gillis stuff, I find the older German FRs to hold up better.

The only one that's been a problem for me is the original version of the Edge 7 on my Ibby Universe. Barely stays in tune for normal playing and when used for trem effects it goes out. Many people have suggested similar experiences but Hoshino claims ignorance of the issue.

Other than that, as long as you know what you're getting and your OK with it, it should be fine. Different models for different styles and different tastes.

Well, one is MII, other is MIJ - there's your price difference.

According to the reading I've done, MIJ guitars are still more consistent in fit, finish, and setup, but I'll wager these Premiums will catch up before long.

My Suhr has a Gotoh. If you can't get a NOS original Floyd then get the Gotoh, it's the only thing I've played that sounds as good and takes as much abuse.

I've read most of the reviews here on this thread and it seems like the Ibanez Edge Lo-Pro is getting a standing ovation. I've always thought the original Floyds (OFR) would be voted the best, but there seems to be mixed reviews between them and the Licensed Floyds. I don't think no one has mentioned Yamaha's RM-Pro Tremolo system. I have it on my 1989 Yamaha RGX Custom with a pitch rise thumbwheel to adjust the backwards trem motion. I've used and abused this baby with dive-bombs galore and it stays in superb tune. It works extremely well after all these years so I would give this a thumbs up, even though it's under-rated. It's somewhat on the bulky side but it is built solid and it feels good to rest the edge of my palm on the bridge for string muting.

I had an ofr. I have an ibz edge (orig). That said, i love the ibanez zr2 trem. It has less reange than an edge but gets more of a subtle strat type vibrato instead of the usual " move the trem bar an 1/8" and drop 2 full tones" ofr kind of action.

I chalk it up to the distance between the saddles and the pivot points

Let it be known that i am not a big trem user either. More of an embellishment thing than a style thing.
