Best looking pickups - Dean ML (poll)

I have a 35th Anniversary ML. I'm loving the stock double cream Super Distortions, but I am thinking that I'd like to go to some combination of zebra, reverse zebra, and/or double cream. I've used a Les Paul mockup program to make previews of what the options might look like. I will be going to all gold hardware on this guitar, and possibly gold frets eventually as well. I also have gold open trim rings on the pickups, black pickup rings, and black knobs.

#1 – quadruple cream (as is):

#2 – zebra:

#3 – reverse zebra:

#4 – zebra neck and reverse zebra bridge:

#5 – reverse zebra neck and zebra bridge:

#6 – zebra neck and double cream bridge:

#7 – reverse zebra neck and double cream bridge:

#8 – They all suck.

I like the plain zebra with sunbursts that have brown or black on the outside.

Double creme is more of a thing for cherry sunburst.

Lose the open top covers and call it a day. Those things look awesome with double blacks but IMHO, out of place with double cream.

#2 or #3 are my votes. Zebra or reverse zebra always has appeal.

At first, I thought about some options involving double black, but decided against them pretty soon. I think there are 16 total options, and I eliminated seven of them because they involved double black. The other two that I didn't put in the poll involved a double cream in the neck slot, and zebra or reverse zebra in the bridge. I didn't like the way that looked.

Out of the options I posted, I lean toward 1, 5, 6, and 7.

I would go with a covered set myself. But I have a few guitars with mismatched pickup colors and they sound fine so I stop there. Either way good luck, that's a very nice looking guitar.

I like the quadruple cream, but I'll raise it to a sextuple by recommending cream rings too.
