Where'd you get that? I just went to a place in AZ, and they wanted like $600 for one of those dealios.

eBay. Brand spankin new. The clincher is - it's a premium model -- swamp ash body. :)

I've been playing less than a year so I can't justify a big $$$ guitar.

The G&L Tribute is the best of all worlds for me - affordable, excellent build quality and the tone of a $1000 guitar.

I upgraded (in a quantum leap) from a used mid 90s Ibanez RG270. It will last me a long time.

I would either go with a Jackson, LTD, Schecter. Most of those lower end products from these brands are accually not half bad just need a pup change and a set up and you got your self a nice guitar, especially the Schecters those are sweet guitars.

Re: Best Lower End Guitar for the money!

All of the Ibanez SC, SCA, SZ series guitars. Fabulous~!!!

Schecters rule as well.

Re: Best Lower End Guitar for the money!

I agree with Schecters. I'm surprised with second hand G&L's as well.

In my country, the three best budget guitars would be the Ibanez Grx/Gsa series, Squier Bullet and locally made guitars called RJ. I would chose the RJ's because of better woods and options. A friend of mine had them make a neck-through, hardtail strat out of mahogany and when he placed a Jazz/JB combo on them, it sounded like a mahogany/maple top Les Paul.

jolly just sold a very nice red BC Rich assassin on ebay for $400. one of you guys should have grabbed it.

Re: Best Lower End Guitar for the money!

I love my MIM Nashville Tele - under $300 on eBay in perfect condition. Couple o' Duncans, and away we go.

If you're talking REAL low-end, I am favorably impressed with the Ibanez GAX that I bought my daughter when she said she wanted to learn guitar. It was only about $150, but is a real solid guitar with 2 humbuckers. It kinda reminds me of the old '63 Melody Maker I had years ago (Pat Travers-ized by me with a Badass bridge and 2 HB's. Never shoulda sold that one...) I'd be modding the GAX with Duncans and playing it myself (now that she's changed her mind about guitar) if I hadn't bought her the damn PURPLE one. :smack:

3 words-Jimmy Vaughan strat!

I hear that's the ultimate deal in fender right now. All of the american appointments, top notch quality, MIM and the price is way worth it. A buddy of mine colz10 is out to buy one and I'm positive it will sound awesome. I have trouble finding them at GC though.

The fender vintage series MIM is pretty good too i hear. Nitro finishes, decent pickups, quality vintage trems.
