It surely doesn't have the sustain and the presence of the Gibson, but I guess that for the price you couldn't ask for too much.

I can't answer more precisely to your question because as I said, it's been a long time I haven't played it and when I got it, I was entering the "world of Guitar". So I couldn't really tell. I should add to this that the guitar staid so far by my parents' home which is approximately 1500 km from where I live now. I can't just play it again and tell you how it feel.

What I can do, is share my feelings once I got back to my parents and that the make-over is done.

I started with a pair of 59's in my LP for me thay were nearly there but I wanted a little more "bite" from the bridge and for the neck to be a little less "muddy"so I ended up with the JB/Jazz combo. But the I still love my 59's in my other guitar which ironicly(?) have done just that in my fenton that I am now trying to learn slide on. I had a LP100 I think it makes a good starter guitar it has more of a runch to it's tone than an LP, but the electrics oh dear! Still go for the four wire 59's and rewire with coil splits this guitar will sound really fenderish with split coils.

I said Jazz, Les Pauls just naturally carry a lot of bass, and I've always found the 59n to be boomy in lesters. The jazz is like a 59 with less bass and more clarity.

I should note thought that the 59n is still a great pup in an SG, or alder or basswood bodied guitar.

I discovered the joy of humbucker splitting the other day while playing a PRS McCarthy in a shop. So I will be getting a pair '59 four conductors. I am gonna love this, I can feel it.

PS: After further investigation, I discovered that
my epi was a classic and not a 100. For my defense
I didn't see it for a while... hum! :smack:
