Looks tasty.

In an ironic twist, recent Epiphone guitars now come with improved pickups bearing names such as Alnico II Classic Pro and Alnico 4 Pro. In other words, Tonerider OEM pickups with the word Pro added to their names.

I have Tonerider pickups in an Epiphone thinline guitar. The stock Korean Waxbuckers had to go.

Recently I've done an experience and replaced the 59n in my SG with a Mean 90. The one thing I know is that I'm really enjoying it. Blueman and GuitarDoc, how is your experience with the Mean 90 bridge? (I'm planning on getting one for this SG).

I love it in the bridge. I use mine with both A5 mags, but an A8/A5 combination in the bridge would be wonderful as well.

The Gibson P-90s seem pretty bright to me and I can see why Blueman would recommend warmer sounding mags in the bridge. The Mean 90 with two A5's isn't as bright and has lots of gorgeous mids...I think it is perfect right out of the box for the bridge.

Adding to that ^^, I've had the Mean 90 bridge with A5/A5, A5/A8, A8/Ceramic & A8/A8.

The A8/A8 was by far my fav! HUGE, rauunchy mids, smoother treble, and bigger low mids and bass.

Had to go the whole hog, the stock epi pots were pretty crappy, new CTS Vintage pots and the cap made a big difference in tonal range, Phat Cat is sublime
