Hey guys, i just updated my guitars with Alnico II Pros and I'm loving them, now i'm only having 1 problem, i took the stock pickups on a gibson les paul (57 classic) and installed them on the 12 string of the double neck and I'm noticing a problem, 1 of the strings of each pair is a lot louder than the other one because one is right over the pole and the other one isn't so i figure i would need a pickup to cover the entire area of the strings, now here are the questions i have

would a trembucker fit on the same spot of a regular humbucker?
would the poles cover both strings?

the only other pickup i can think off would be the invader because it has those big poles on it but thats a High Output pickup which i don't want

the other pickup i think MIGHT work would be the P-rails because it has that BLADE pickup that might cover it

any ideas would be appreciated! thanks!!!!!!!!

A blade polepiece pickup would cure polepiece-related issues. What it will not fix is the relative heights of the strings in each string course or their relative masses.

Dude, Don't put an Invader on a 12 String!!!!! Way too hot.
Try a P-Rails. It will give you the low gain "strat" sound in the rail coil mode, IDEAL for a 12 String. The P-90 and Humbucker modes also offer you other tones as well.
My 12 String has a Jazz in the bridge and a PG in the neck, and I must say, the PG is almost too hot for a 12 String. You may have to go outside of Seymourland to find a low gain blade/rail HB.........

Look into Carvin pickups, they have extra poles on each coil. I'm not saying the sound will be what you're looking for, but the geometry of the pickups will cover your string/polepiece issues.

Maybe a danelectro styled pup would work. If I'm not mistaken isnside the lipstick there is a single coil rail, and in the humbucker lipsticks, they are two single coils wired like a humbucker. Would look sweet too hahaha

you know, the invader neck is actually only around 7.5k.... it does have those ceramic magnets though. maybe as a bridge pickup? i have no idea how it would sound though:dunno:

Man, I don't know what kind of crazy musics you guys play, but 12 String guitars should always be fitted with bright, low output pickups, usually single coils, definitley not Invaders.
Sure, the Invader neck is 7.5k, but it will NOT get a true clean tone, and I'm assuming that's what you want from a 12-String....
