Best pickup for nylon string guitar?

Hi. Just joined forum. I have a lovely Takamine nylon string classical guitar. I want to record with it AND play through a PA system. Any recommendations?

Re: Best pickup for nylon string guitar?

For best results for recording or playing through a PA is using a good microphone (condenser or dynamic is a matter of debate).

Although I've heard some having good results with a piezo pickup, but I always found it to sound unnatural...

i use a takamine 132-sc, which has factory installed electronics, but my previous workhorse nylon was a yairi. I installed a fishman pickup and used an outboard fishman pro-eq II preamp. Worked brilliantly into a PA system for live work.
However, as others have pointed out, piezo transducers are simple a necessary evil of live work because they give you a passable tone that has very little feedback and no dropouts if you move around. If you want to record, use a mic. cos it sounds 100% better.
