Best pickup to match with SH-6b distortion?

Hi everyone,
i just bought a Gibson epiphone stratocaster, i`m about to change the pickups, right now is a S/S/S and i`m gonna turn it into a H/S/H.
So far i bought a Seymour duncan distortion SH-6b for the bridge, i have read a good couple of bad reviews about them and i don`t understand why, since in every single video i have watched they sounds great, anyway, i would like to match them with a different pickup than the SH-2n jazz or the TB-6, i really like the sound of the invader, 59 hybrid, and the black winter..i was wondering how the sh-6 would sound matched with one of them on the neck. Any suggestion or advice? Thank you :notworthy

Give us some more info on the guitar as well as your amp and what tones you desire.

the one i own is a S-310

3 Epiphone single coil pickups
Laminated alder body
Chrome or black Hardware
Maple Bolt-on Neck
Maple or Rosewood Fingerboard with dot inlays
Explorer-style headstock
Pearloid "Epiphone" inlay on headstock
2-Point Fulcrum tremolo
Black or White pickguard
Black or White top-hat knobs

1.68" nut width

and i will play it through a bugera bugera 333xl infinium,
i`m going for a progressive metal sound, like katatonia or opeth

A couple things:

1. The Invader and the Black Winter are about the only pickups SD makes that are hotter than the Distortion. Putting them in the neck position would overpower the Distortion in the Bridge position.

2. You may have already checked this out, but make sure that under the pick guard it is routed for HSH, otherwise you will have to do that yourself.

3. SD makes a calibrated neck pickup for the Distortion, and it's a great match. You can buy the set, sold as the Distortion Mayhem set at just about any major website that sells SD pickups.
