Hi!

I have an Ibanez RG752AHM with ash body and maple fretboard and I'm looking for a good pickup combo for metal/progmetal.

The stock PAF 7 sounds great but there's a high pitched sound when I play on the high e-string and a want a little more output as well.

What do you suggest? I've thought about a Pegasus/Sentient, Custom/59 or a Blaze custom and an air norton. Someone who has tried some ot these pickups in an ash body guitar with bolt on maple neck with maple fretboard?

Any reason the nazgul/sentient isn't on the list?
Having absolutely no 7-string or nor ash-body experience lol,,,,,,,,,,,that would be my first thought unless you were needing versatility beyond the metal genre.

When I look at the eq-stats on the nazgul it seems to have a little bit to much treble for smooth lead playing but I might be wrong...

Smooth lead playing will be better complimented by the Pegasus. If that's a priority then you're already on the right track.

You could always have the best of both worlds by running a nazgul bridge for riffing and then stepping on a pedal for leads. (overdrive, EQ or clean booster with the treble rolled-off slightly)
Also, many just flip to the neck or the bridge/neck combo for leads anyways.

Ok! I wish there was a clip with different pickups in a guitar just like mine (ash body, bolt on neck with maple fretboard)
