Re: Best price on original floyd rose?

Oh... a friend of mine just replaced his JT580LP by the Spyder and the post spacing was the same. He had to file out some wood though, but that was in the recessed cavity which I don't have. I thought the Spyder would then fit too, though I wasn't sure if the spring block would be long enough.
POST SPACING is the same on almost ALL floyd roses from the cheapest import up to the most expensive platinum plated made in Unexistia unit.....
My memory my be failing me, but the JT580LP and JT-6 are 2 totally different trems... One is a standard Lo-pro design and the other one is a further deveopment of the original OFR design in a different way... THe block on a JT-6 is notably smaller than on a Jt-580, and even more so compared to the spyder.... the spyder also has a much larger footprint (which, as you correctly noted, doesnt´really matter because non-recessed)
Again, I´m worried about bar clearance more than anythiong else, as well as how the Kahler knife edges would work with the JT-6 posts...... Wasn´t the Spyder also the "different" unit that had the knife on teh post and the groove in teh trem? That would mean doweling and redrilling the holes.....
Ah well... 170 for a Schaller, I had indeed never seen that cheap. Thanks a lot for the tip!
I would honestly expect most europeans to know Rockinger, as they have an almost Charvelish reputation in some circles and have been around almost as long as Warmoth...
By the way I received my two Dan Erlewine books today
Enjoy, esp the "Guitar Player Repair Guide" will keep you busy for a while
Edit: why are the Gotoh FR more expensive than the Schallers?
@ rockinger: Because the Schaller is Made in germany and the Gotoh is made in japan = Gotoh extra shipping costs and more importantly CUSTOMS fees... the schaller costs about a dollar to get there from Schaller, the Gotoh on the other hand costs about 10 dollars extra just to get TO Germany and another 30 or so for "admission"
