Re: Best Recording Device For Under 300$?

toneport is 32 bit 192khz.
and have a descent ASIO driver ,really low latency (i have no problem recording live) ,and real time hardware monitoring!
it "is" the soundcard itself ,and does it really well.UX2 2 or the new KB are the better ones.
GearBox (the line6 software with the tones ,metronome, tuner etc) is a great tool and rock solid.Updates are great too.
BTW ,Cubase sx3 ,abelton live 4 ,5 ,6 ,sony acid pro 6 do see it automaticly ,and u can use it as midi too.
Best buy for it's price.

That's better quality than the US-122. Go for it.

Re: Best Recording Device For Under 300$?

Ok i've checked and it seems the toneport isn't available around here. So what should I get?

Re: Best Recording Device For Under 300$?

From the Line 6 website Toneport section:
Outputs:
*Stereo Line Outputs via two 1/4 inch
*Headphone Out

Correct me if i'm wrong but that means that it output's to the soundcard which means the recording quality will be degraded by my soundcard.

Incorrect. All recording is done through the toneport itself (which is an external soundcard) directly to HDD. THe stereo line outs are for monitoring purposes only ;)

I've had a M-Audio Firewire Solo for about a year and half now, I think it does a pretty damn good job. Gotta love its built quality too.
