Would mixing and matching work? Because if one is high output and one is low output, and are two totally different pickups, wouldnt I have to adjust my eq/volume/gain to each pickup?

its fine if the bridge is hotter than the neck, you just adjust pickup heights to get it how you like it. It doesnt hurt if the magnets are similar tho to make things more homogenous, but all rules are made to be broken. On a side note tho, its good to work with the volume/tone controls on your axe anyway.

How about Custom vs. custom 5 vs. custom custom? I've seen people say things about each, but what are the differences and how do they compare tonally?

Ok guys. I think I've decided to go with a Custom 5 in the bridge and a 59 in the neck. If you think I should get something else, prove me wrong now so I can check out any other pickups and do any last comparisons.

sounds like a great plan...and you can tweak either of those pups with mag swaps later if you feel the need.

Yeah thats another reason I like them. Because if I want a custom custom I can switch the mag, or a custom I could switch it. It has more variety of tones and i think its a good place to start

Theres a thread saying that the 59 and Custom are too bassy? Is that true in a LP?

lol ok then thats fine. And whats the difference between the 4 conductor cable version vs the 59 normal? Are there any tonal differences? Quick responses would be nice because I would like to order them today.

just order them already! lol....
.....and a handful of differrent mags so next time you wonder "what if...." then you can just find out!

ps. 4 conductor is only necessary if you want to use coil tapping/phase switch etc

Haha Ik man I realllly wanna just order them but I just wanna be a hundred percent sure. Since they have the same tonal qualities and for 10 dollars more I get quite a few more options, I'll go for that one. Thanks a lot guys, I really appeciate your help. Ill tell you how I like them once I get them and try em out.

Crap... now I dont know which colors to get hahaha. I have an epiphone les paul standard tobacco burst... what colors do you think would look the best?
