Whats some of the best cheap solid state home practise amps you can get in the year of 2015?

I'm wondering what the best solid state amp will be in the year 3015.

As for 2015, I have no idea. I'm a tube man myself. It's been 11 years since I last owned a solid state guitar amp.

One of the Marshall MG Series sounds awesome for a solid state amp. I also really like the Vox Valvetronix but those have a tube preamp so not completely solid state... Both can be found repetitively inexpensive on the used market

Not cheap, but absolutely the best sounding ever would be Quilter amps.

My absolute favorite amp of all time is the Gallien-Krueger 250ML...would love to get one someday

youre kidding right? my buddy has had one forever and we joke about how crappy it is. it works in a pinch and is small which is why he keeps it.

oh, and im stuck in your airport at the moment. ugh

im partial to the Randall RG 100 es.. but mine is going on 25 years old.. Still sounds better than 95% of all SS amps.. very loud.. good cleans and a descent .. almost tube like distortion.. BUT its not very versatile

Ha! To each his/her own! I love it--a ton of power and gain in a tiny box.

And sorry you are stuck at the airport--hopefully the delay won't be too long!

I never liked Gallien-Krueger guitar amps much. Are they even still making new ones? I would be shocked if they were.

Their bass amps are the best in the biz IMO. However, I wouldn't ever buy one of their guitar amps.

I remember when Iron Maiden endorsed them in the late 80's/early 90's.. was always curious about the GK amps..

Peavey should have had the new Vypyr Pro out by now. It's solid state, not digital.

Any cool SS heads released as of late?
All I see is mostly combos. Would love to try a good, modern high-powered SS head through a proper cab with nice speakers.

I remember when Iron Maiden endorsed them in the late 80's/early 90's.. was always curious about the GK amps..

While I love their early marshall tones, there's something very unique and special about the somewhere in time tones.

i would like to see peavey making a something like a Bandit Head, and having the 3 lead modes (vintage, high gain, modern) made into individual channels.


anyway, the randall rgs still seems as the "best" of solid state amps, at least until a cool ss amp apears through the year and knocks everything else.
