Best Tap Tremolo pedal??

Re: Best Tap Tremolo pedal??

The Duncan Shape Shifter is really a nice pedal. Tap works well, and the Shape control is awesome.

I wasn't a fan of the Line 6, but before I got the Duncan I was very interested in the Empress and Cusack. In fact, I've got a ZVex Ooh Wah II that was modded for tap tempo by Cusack and one thing I really like about his method is that a single tap "resets" the wave, but keeps the same tempo.

Lightfoot Labs has released the Goatkeeper Version 2, it's much more involved than a standard Tremolo, but I think I'm going to pick one up...

Shape Shifter is a nice one as its got a number of beat subdivisions

Personally though I really don't find the tap tempo that useful on tremolo and switched back to the Voodoo Lab pedal.

Its got the best vintage sounds to my ears though not tap tempo

In your opinion, which pedal is quieter ..... I mean a lower level of hiss waves when you're not playing but the pedAL is engaged?

Re: Best Tap Tremolo pedal??

Both of them are very quiet, I never a/b'd for for noise but its low enough on both that I never heard any LFO noise so I'd say its a not issue as far as comparisons go.

I really like the duncan shape shifter. Lots of cool sounds in that pedal.

Re: Best Tap Tremolo pedal??

I don't need no stinkin tap on my tremolo!!!!

HA!

No tap around in the 50's!!!

FWIW, if I were gonna get a trem pedal with a tap tempo feature I'd get the Duncan but for now my old DeArmond will have to do...
