Best tappable neck hb?

The Tone Ranger

I'm hoping to acquire one of the blacktop strats w/hum-hum config. I like having the availability of two buckers, but also love the neck single coil sound for blues. The guitar has 5-way wiring, but doesn't give neck only outer coil. So I would have to have a coil tap installed. So which neck humbucker would provide the best bluesy single neck strat sound? 59 or Jazz? Other?

Thanks!

The stag mag from SD and some from RioGrande (the Muy grandes, tall boys and half breeds) are humbuckers that are 2 actual strat single coils put together to form a humbucker. They will split perfectly and will give you the truest "strat" tones.

Normal humbuckers can be split and some do it very well but they still dont sound quite the same as a single coil with 6 rod magnets. The 59 splits nicely so does the dimarzio humbucker from hell. The Jazz can be a bit thin and jangly if your after a thick blues sound.

As a side note just as an FYI a coil tap is something thats done to single coil pickups a split is when you run half a humbucker. Its a minor thing but just thought i would let you know so you dont run into confusion in the future.
