what's a ratty tone? single coilish or maybe low output humbuckers like the tv-tron kinda sound..?

When I used the word ratty, I guess I mean rough, unrefined, and lacking body. The V16, by comparison, had nice chime and a sweet, singing quality when driven that was entirely absent in the V8.

well i might go for this instead, it's a solid state, but its worth the try
