That can be used with heavy distortion,

that has a noticable and relatively large sweep

That doesnt suck tone

that can do sabbath to modern metal.

Anything like this exist? The Cry Baby just isnt doing it for me right now.

Those three are probably three of the best normal wahs for high gain use. You might also consider the Teese Wizard wah :)

Re: Best wah pedal....

Most wah's are just fine with gain, especially amp gain. The biggest prerequisite you should consider is true bypass or buffered bypass. That's why people pay a little more for those. Any wah that allows your signal to pass through it's circuitry when off is going to throw a blanket over your natural guitar tone. You notice that the highs aren't crystaline anymore, but rather dull and 'shaved off.'

Look mostly at Fulltone, Teese, and Budda. Vox's and Dunlops usually suck tone.

Re: Best wah pedal....

I just got a new wah pedal over the weekend, I posted a thred about it in this forum somewhere but then end result is that I was able to try a Teese RMC2, RMC3, Picture, Wizard and RMC6 all at the same time...the Wizard wah will do what you are asking EASILY, it's got lots of bottom, killer mids, smooth top a HUGE sweep, true bypass, works with fuzz pedals...great wah for sure.

Re: Best wah pedal....

For sabbath to modern............Morley Tremonti Power Wah. Don't let the Sig name fool you. I could care for Mark Tremonti, but his Wah is pretty sweet. I use a Wylde Wah now to compare to and the Morley has more sweep. Not as much Mojo as the Wylde, but enough. I like to use the Morley for live shows just for it's ease of use.

Re: Best wah pedal....

I like the HBE Medicine Bawl wah or my John Spina modded Vox V847 Wah.
