Re: Best website for guitar tabs

I dont know that ive found a better site that UG, but Id bet you will run into that no matter where you get tabs. The same tabs seem to circulate from site to site.

I did a tab for Vandenbergs Prelude Mortal several years back and submitted it to a power tabs website. My tab is sitting there at UG and it wasnt put there by me and I know its mine because of the way I labeled and notated the tab, not to mention the tab itself as I spent many an hour getting it just right.

Anyway, I just use tabs as a reference because I dont really trust them. The big problem isnt always necessarily wrong notes, but the position something is played. Well, wrong notes are an issue too. I tend to trust my ears more than someone elses.

Tabs basically turn guitar into a puzzle. I barely use them, ever.

The most they should ever be used for is as reference. Beyond that, you might as well stop playing. :/

I don't like tabs much...but just for pure curiosity which specific tab are you looking for?

Re: Best website for guitar tabs

http://www.911tabs.com has all of the tab websites hooked together in with a common search engine. it's not the most reliable search engine though, but if you find something that won't load up you'll at least know where to find it. certainly it's better than just having one of the sites.

however, i find that i'm always going back to ttabs.com for written tabs and ultimate-guitar.com for powertabs and guitarpro tabs.
