I saw that and looked him up because I vaguely recalled the name. That's a holy grail amp, which he got one year before he passed away. I'd love to be able to play it, but I know for sure I'm not buying it. If I had the money I probably would though! LOL

I know a guy who owns two custom overdrives. I got to play a bit through his combo. And not knowing the guitar as well as mine I thought it sounded pretty impressive. Not worth 50k good but a whole lot better then most amps. For me...... I'll keep my Komet

I know Robben Ford and Carlos use them, but personally I liked Carlos tone when he was playing the SG special and Les Paul through a Twin. It sounded more organic then his tone now. To me it just sounds muddy. Now Robbens tone is beautiful. He gets thes notes that just bloom whenever he wants them to

An items "worth" is always relative to a persons disposable income.
Keeping in mind that once Howard got rolling..... his amps were frequently built with a specific player's hands in mind.
As with ANY amp, it may or may not be to your liking at any price.

I remember reading an interview with SRV where he said that he liked his first Dumble but they got worse with each new one he had built so he ended up using a Marshall Major PA head. I'd still like to try one though.
