Better then pedals

i found it was cheaper to buy the alesis nano verbs, so i bought 3 of them. one for reverb and one for chorus and one for delay i made a little floor rack for them one over the other, iince they are 1/4 rack size and the nano verb has a bypass switch on the back so i took an old peavey pedal with channel and effects switch in it added a third switch so i could by pass each effect are use it when i wanted. i had the old pedal laying around. the nano verbs cost me 300 bucks for all 3.. boss wants around 140 50 dollars for thier reverb pedal and 80 some bucks are more for their cheapest chorus pedal and 140 or 50 for a delay. i got better effects plus more effects if i want for just a lottle work. what do you think. the little floor rack i made is cool it tilts back so i can see it

Re: Better then pedals

sounds pretty smart to seperate those three functions. but unless you just love only those sounds...I think you could have scored a nice multi-effects pedal for $300.

Boss ME-50 or Digitech RP500 come to mind.

Re: Better then pedals

multi effects are cool but to much programing for me my alesis are on one effect and thats it and then its on are off for me. but iam old just want to plug and play. i do like some of the pedals ypu listed the sparkle drive and holy grail, ts9

Re: Better then pedals

Sounds like a cool little rig... can you take any pictures of it?

Re: Better then pedals

As usual, I can barely make out what you're trying to say, but yes, three Nanoverbs would definitely be preferable to almost any multifx device out there.

I find that multis typically fall into one of two categories:

Category 1: they suck at everything

Category 2: some effects are great, some effects are ok, and some effects are terrible

Personally I'd rather have a pedal board where all the effects are great, easy to configure, and picked out personally by me. This also gives me the ability to mod certain pedals if I want to improve upon them. Good luck doing that with a multi. It sounds like you are using the same principles in building your effects rig. The Nanoverb is a cool little unit, and I almost got one myself.

Re: Better then pedals

Doesn't surprise me. Rack effects are usually better than the majority of stomp boxes in most cases.

Re: Better then pedals

The alesis nano's were cool little units. Quadraverb was great too.
