Re: Between a Blue Dog & Greenback?
Thanks, guys. I did a few hour comparison today between speakers that i've aquired but have'nt used in a while. I've got a seperate 1x12 cabinet that I house the speaker in. In my very humble opinion the stock Blue Marvel has a very stiff sound to it. No life at all. The Greenback has a lot less bass but for this particular amp is to bright, especially when using OD or distortion. I've got an 8 ohm Celestion Silver Series that I hooked up to the extension jack. There was something about the mids that I found unappealing. Kinda sterile like the Blue Marvel. The Eminance Legend V12 has zip for clean headroom, broke up way to soon for my liking. Terrible sounding speaker. But like a lot of things these speakers would probably be perfect in another amplifier. So far the Weber Blue Dog seems to be by far the best, most workable speaker that I've tried. Not at all harsh sounding, good bass response, just enough mids to push the sound without sounding harsh or barky and the highs seemed relaxed. If I could just lighten it all up a shade it would be perfect. (Picky, picky picky!!!)
