Beyond Guitar Gear

Anyone seen or used Beyond products that can be found on Amazon? They have decent-looking pickups for $15-$35 and a variety of guitar parts.

Re: Beyond Guitar Gear

The saying 'you get what you pay for' is the first thing that springs to mind.

Re: Beyond Guitar Gear

Says that the bridge pickup is 16k and the neck is 8k. They look pretty cool, some like invaders and some traditional. Wood tops are avalible for some.

Re: Beyond Guitar Gear

Music is about sound. Appearances are secondary.

Having said this, even the deficiencies of the cheapest pickup could be exactly what is required to compliment the natural acoustic properties of some host guitar, out there, somewhere.

It is a question of balance.

Re: Beyond Guitar Gear

I don't think they're exactly alike.
"Hot Rails" is a trademarked name, even if they are a different design.

I'm willing to bet they don't want Seymour's lawyers up their butts sideways.

Paging Scott Olson and Evan Skopp to the blue courtesy phone!

I would be extremely careful about something that cheap as far as a pickup goes. like was said VVVV you get what you pay for. They may be EXTREMELY MICROPHONIC and not wax potted, crappy windings, short leads, etc. don't do it man. Buy from Seymour Duncan, MADE IN USA isn't stamped on the back for cosmetic purposes. Believe me you get what you pay for.

even though it is good to be wary on parts/electronics that are cheap in price.. there are exceptions..such as guitarfetish parts.. some of their parts on par with the stuff they are meant to copy.. for a fraction of the price
another example..
IRON GEAR PICKUPS.. cheaper than SD's or dimazio and the QC is up to the same level..for 1/2 the cost soundwise they are also as good as any SD or dimazio..i prefer them over all others

Re: Beyond Guitar Gear

Just clicked on the noiseless bass pickups, such a great description:

Provides slammin' output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion
The world's most popular humbucker

LOL, where have I heard that before....
