I popped a bg 1400 into my cheap 200.00 craigslist classic vibe butterscotch tele and WOW! the thing is amazing (bought the pup on CG too for 75 bucks), its like a big V8 in a pinto with stock wheels and tires a total sleeper looks stock but breaths fire. I love it.
I have an 89 MIJ 69 thinline I bought new and the dimarzio tone zone T I thought was the best and last pickup I would ever install I never thought I would change it but the BG 1400 has made me re think this.
Anyone have one in a thinline? my CV is pine body maple neck. my thinline is mahogany/maple thiline has 500k's v and t, CV has 250k V and t the BG1400 has much more clarity, top end and more everything else. The output is very close (or volume) and both match perfectly with a GFS fatbody neck pickup (single coil) there is almost no drop in volume. I have a crapload of gutars (42) I don't know exactly what I am hearing but its like the best of a tele pup, PAF and a p90, Its got twang, oomph and growl, I cant explain it but I like it a lot.
