ok, i used to love my MIM strat, but i found a MIJ strat used, and the MIM dosen't really get a look in anymore - what's mental is that i got the MIJ strat for about the same as the MIM, both are used...

and if you really want a fender amp, check out the hotrod deluxe i want one

I say get the acoustic and a cheaper amp...maybe the Blues Jr.

It's a loud amp for just 15 watts. I love mine.

I like Les Pauls a lot, but am I the only one that thinks a Gibson Les Paul Classic through a Marshall practice amp isn't exactly right? It won't allow the guitar to shine like it should.

i had to make the same decision before between a LP and a Taylor. I went to the shop with the intention of picking up a LP but tried a few of the newer Taylors there and reconsidered and thought about buying the Taylor instead. I ended up buying the LP though because I'm more of an electric guitar person than acoustic person. Don't get me wrong, I love a good acoustic guitar however it made more sense to me to purchase the LP because it suites my style of music better. After I bought my LP I decided that the next guitar I bought would be a Taylor. Acousticwise nothin compares to a Taylor.... :32:

welll in all shame i have a mim strat and a marshall practice amp. The amp is a sad tale indeed. The fender mim strat has a hot rail in the bridge, and my acoustic is a piece of fire wood.

The MIM's are fine, especialy with good pickups, get an amp.


It'd be stupid to get a gibby if you are playing on a marshall practice amp, heh.

I personally dont dig the LP Classics because of the yellowish aged inlays...... just has never been my cup of tea.

I'm gonna third this notion. I've used the blues jr. in live settings quite a bit....all ya gotta do is mic it, but you'd be amazed how clean it will stay as you crank it up (especially if using single coils, not so much with humbuckers)....this is a good suggestion
