HAILS Unholy friends from the forum. how are yah?
i need to ask you about this combination.
since i have no money right know to Inject on a new pup(full shred neck)... i will use what i have.
i already have installed the BLL500XL in the bridge of my stratocaster, tuned in B, but i want to install in the neck the DImarzio HFH...
i would like to know if the BL will Overpower TOO MUCH the HFH in the neck

It might be a little stronger but I don't think so necessarily. Shouldn't be too much of a problem....I have an HFH with an Evolution and that's worked out fine for me.

I think it might on that one....the X2N is VERY strong at 510mV I think while the HFH is around 226mV possibly?? I know it's a fairly large difference though.

In addition, many times you can fix the difference in output by adjusting heights on the pickups if the outputs are mismatched...but X2N vs HFH would probably be too much even with height adjustments IMO.

Bill usually says that the XL doesn't mix well with any pickup, so if you're using that pu I don't think it matters what you want in the neck.

I really like the HFH's tone,but it's output was way too low for me.
The BL'll prolly dust it.

FWIW,I like the PAF Pro,Duncan Jazz & '59 for the neck position.

The Xl-500 mixes well with alot of pickups. I have used it with a paf pro, a Bill Lawrence L-500C in the neck, which is a very low output humbucker at about 5.4 ohms, and a few others that I dont remember off the top of my head. I think it sounds really good and isnt over powering at all. It kind of has an acoustic vibe in the middle position with clean tones. The XL-500 dosent mix with singles well though. I say try the Xl-500 with the HFH, you may really like it. BTW, is the XL-500 a real one from Bill and Becky Lawrence or is it a fake? You can tell the difference by the width of the rails (the real one has thicker rails) and the ohms, the real one has something like 15.5 ohms and the fake has around 12 ohms if I remember correctly. There are a few different was to tell the apart also, If you have any questions feel free to ask.
