Bill Lawrence L500XL

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL

Just picked up a L500L. I can definitely say that it has less output than the XL. It does sound a bit fatter though.

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL

All of the ones Ive seen on reverb and ebay recently feature the inserts.... Perhaps they started that recently then?
I further assumed that and the sticker change took place at the same period because I havent bought a new one from Wilde since atleast 2009, I just buy them used when I see them pop up.

If they did it must have been VERY recent - I bought my most recent on about 6 months ago I think. I think they would be a good addition, though.
I paid no attention at all to the stickers.

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL

I got a B&B Keystone Tele set a few years ago, right after Bill passed away. Ridiculously inexpensive (the set cost about $65 as I remember) and they sounded great- classic Tele twang, little noise, not a "hyped" sound but detailed & responsive- real clear & natural. The open coil neck was a little less veiled than vintage Teles tend to be, yet still sweet and not Stratty the way some get. I moved the guitar along but the pickups left a good impression.
