Birthday Telecaster renivation (I have some questions)

Ok I have a new 2005 (i think) MIM telecaster.

Im wanting to put a creme/black 59 in the neck with a coil split.


Are newer MIM's S/H routed? I tapped on the pickguard and it sounds like it is... But heh, thats about as accurate as judging a cars horse power with an ass dyno...

Theres what i want it to look like, with the coil color orentation to be like that, does that mean I have to use a bridge 59?

And how well will a 59 balance with the Qp lead?

Ohh btw, my birthday is on the 18th (this month)

If you can't get a reverse zebra pup from a dealer's stock, they should be able to order one for you from Duncan.

Zebra is white/black, is it not? I want creme/black.

And can you recomend me a good quality pickguard for the S/H? (One that matches up with the body very very good) I want 3-ply w/b/w like I have now.

ok...

Your Tele should be already routed for a neck bucker (if you can see the screws for the neck pickup that came in it, it's routed for a neck bucker, if the screws are hidden under the guardplate, it's routed for a Tele neck pickup)

a 59n and a QP should work just fine together, and would make one hell of a mean tele!

as for the coil colour, you can order a zebra neck or a reverse zebra neck (which is the same pickup with the black and cream bobbin swapped, just the colour)

BTW...that would look great with a black pickup ring!

zebra can be white/black or cream/black, just make sure you tell the person your order from. As for a guardplate...I get all my guards from Warmoth, they do great work, and they are pretty quick!

Ring on a pickguard? Sounds kinda odd. But yea, Im one of thoes nutcases who would buy a 60's gretsch hollowbodies to play metal on, I really just never got into the all black with skull/crossbones look. (Imo)

Thats the point of this tele, To build a tele that has class, but sounds mean as hell.
