Re: bits and pieces

Sounds good. I hate the fact that I can hardly hear you playing clean. The difference in volume is huge.

Do you have the stock Dean pickups in that ML?

Re: bits and pieces

dude, you either need to speak louder, or do something about that, cos i cant hear shyt.

tone is pretty damn good

Re: bits and pieces

Thanks everyone...yeah I know...I just need to buy at least a cheap PC mic for my laptop...:crying:

Makes me mad cos the thing sounds much better in person. Tho I think I'm gonna look into getting a new amp soon...we'll see.

Yes those were the stock pickups...tonally they are very similar to a 498T/490R, but better I think. Not quite as harsh. Very impressive considering the cost of the guit.

I've got a double cream Super Distortion and double cream PAF to go into it.

Re: bits and pieces

Sounds good ... I THINK!
Really hard to tell, actually.

Please get a decent mic. A USB mic can be had for like $100 or less now.

What was the story with all the distortion/noise going on? That really affects the noise floor as well as what we're trying to hear of of the tone!!!

What happened to the stretches?!! :D

Re: bits and pieces

Nice, bro. That thing has some good tone. Even the Dime-O-Flage ML I played last week sounds good. Those Dean's are great for the $$$.

I have a Vendetta XM, $100, and IT sounds good. Also a Dean Playmate acoustic that I got for $120 sounds far better than things I've heard costing 3 times as much. A friend had a $400 Takamine that sounded like total crap and buzzed like a beehive, man. Dean does make some excellent guitars. The thin, satin maple neck on the Vendettas are the fastest I've played. I think the Schecter Omen 6 or Damien 6 would probably be about the same. The Omen/Damien and the Vendettas are almost the same guitar, from what I can tell, only Schecter uses basswood, Dean uses mahogany. Not in the XM, though.

They also just came out with the new Vendetta 1F, made of basswood with a Floyd trem (Think of the Damien 6 FR, only $100 less). Sam Ash is the only place that has them right now. I'm not a Floyd trem person, so I'll never buy it. I'd much rather the string-thru body, TOM bridge Vendettas.
