BK Black Dog vs SD Custom 5?

I want something on the bright side (this is for an LP into an orange tiny terror) that is vintage-voiced but also overwound/fairly high output. I play Zeppelin and Hendrix (classic rock) as well as traditional and stoner metal (iron maiden, sabbath, the sword, kyuss, red fang.) I'd also like it to be good coil-split, for Hendrix. Anyway, which pickup would suit my needs best?

Regarding Bare Knuckle pickups. I think the Emerald is a better fit than the Black Dog.
They both use 42.5 AWG wire but the Black Dog is Polysol while the Emerald is Plain Enamel. Both are wound asymmetrically.
The Emerald is the brighter of the two and it also has a higher dc resistance (12.7k) which should give better split tones.

Regarding Seymour Duncan. I think the 59/Custom Hybrid would be idea. It seems to have most of the qualities that you are looking for. Nice and bright, great split tones thanks to the Custom coil.

C5's aren't vintage voiced, neither are '59/Customs. Duncans bright vintage voiced PU's are '59's. Although not a PAF, Jazz's are bright and vintage output, and would fit your needs.
