Black coated slugs and polepeices. Do they hinder tone?

Just wondering if powder coated slugs and polepeices change your tone as I had some Ibanez pickups that had black slugs but I see most companies use silver/nickel slugs. The black slugs and polepeices I am looking to buy are made of silver/nickel and are powder coated and cost more than the regular ones. Do most companies use uncoated ones due to cost or is it because of tone?

i dont think there is much of a difference

+1 f the paint / coating isn´t magnetic, there should be no difference.

Isnt the paint applied using a charge to the metal? I know commercial painting uses something called dryfall where they charge the surface and the paint is magnetically drawn to the object to be colored. I am sure it is only splitting hairs though.

probably the same reason black tuning machines are a little more than chrome ones.
