Re: Black pickup ring for trembucker?
Oh it would have worked then,,,,,I was going off our local "techs" advice. He said not to order the OFR or we'd need to fill and re-drill for the studs.
He's the tech that eventually "inspired" me to start learning to do my own basic stuff, since he seemed to know less and care less then I did myself lol.
I didn't get internet until about 2009 lol, so I was always in the dark back then in regards to info,,,,,,and living in moonburger country I had no good info resource.

I think he said that the string spacing was narrower but the studs were wider,,,,,,,,,,but I sure don't doubt he was just wrong.
What year was your guitar? The 86 Model series had the Kahler 2520 trem which had tiny posts and a narrow spacing so I'm assuming that's what you had... The 87-89 JT-6 were the same as a Floyd... Then the 90-91 (92??) toothpaste logo had a Schaller which was also the same as you know...
I hated pre-internet days... Made trial and error a long drawn out process especially if you lived in an area that didn't have people who rocked out.
