Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

A very, very cool band i reckon... but how to get their sound? Gibson 335s, Fender amps and wierd open tunings are a-go, but what about fuzz boxes?

The sounds I hear on a BRMC album are like none ive heard elsewhere... very soft overdrive, almost 'distant' form the clean tone... in fact, its almost as if someone took their tape and just plastered a load of hiss on top of it.

Any suggestions as to how I may get close to this?

Cheers ppl

If you think that is alot check out Billy Gibbons set up, i think he uses something like 10 fuzz boxes. INSANE!

IIRC, in GP they said that most of the guitar tones were recorded guitar-fuzz box-mixing board (no amp).
