Black Sabbath at Hammersmith (great videos)

Re: Black Sabbath at Hammersmith (great videos)

Yeah, Wakeman is apparently the uncredited keysman on some other Sab songs. He is all over the SBS album, which I like, but it had some weird production thing going on (whats with the sound of Tony's guitars?)
Don Airey (now in Deep Purple) did all the keys on Never Say Die. Trivia: Rick's son, Adam Wakeman is the backstage keyboardist for Sabbath now. He has been touring with them for a few years.
Geezer wrote pretty much all the lyrics until Dio joined. After that, the vocalist (whichever one they had) wrote the lyrics.

Thank you for further clarifying some things.

I don't know when this was, but it's obviously at the time with the original line-up, the audio and video is great considering the age of it!

God I love Iommi, he's my idol...Even though I'm only 17 and didn't even live at their prime, he amazes me beyond belief with his playing...He's a god.

Anyway, just wanted to share with other Sabbath fans in case you didn't know these videos.

Thanks for sharing the Sabbath videos with us....Loved the music, but Ozzy's voice was terrible! Too much straining and he's out of key...Iommi is great and another lefty player I grew up listening to and learning stuff from...

Yeah well, Ozzy had seen better days, I guess. But it's like no matter how terrible Ozzy can sound, Tony, Geezer and Bill always sound great regardless of that fact.

Speaking of Sabbath, I just got a hold of a video from the show that Sabbath played in 2004 with Rob Halford on vocals, and it's in great quality, it's really awesome.. I would even go as far as saying DVD quality, as it also seems to have been filmed by some professional company (it isn't audience filmed, and there's shifting between camera's)...Upon a further look, it seems that the film is from the same camera's that are showing on the big screen while the band is playing..that's while it's great quality then.

I guess you could say that, but on the other hand, without Tony there's no Sabbath at all, as Tony in a way IS Sabbath.

The impressive about Phil Collins that day is that as far as I know, he played drums for all the performers that night.

And while we're talking Sabbath, I read somewhere that after the show Tony Blair came backstage and talked to Tony about how much he loved Black Sabbath, and that he plays guitar as a hobby when he has time, and Tony (Iommi) thought about sending one of his signature Gibson guitars to Tony (Blair) ..Pretty cool, wouldn't have expected that from Tony Blair, he doesn't seem to be the heavy metal type, but you can't always tell..People probably think I listen to pop too, lol..
