Aside from Ola's video had anyone else made video's or sound clips comparing the two, preferably with a real tube amp, not kempers or other modeling sounds?????

I have clips on my YouTube channel of both of those pickups. Same riff, same amp, same settings, but in different guitars unfortunately. Hopefully this gives you some idea of the differences. I did use an Avid Eleven Rack though…so I guess that doesn't fit your requirement of a real amp. I have the DI files if you would be interested in running them through your setup (and you have that ability).

I have a couple of DI sounds but here's the Black Winters through a Blues Jr. with nothing but a Vintage Rat distortion. It's in B Standard. The BJ isn't the best for high gain, so I hope you forgive. No post eq, compression or any other effects. It was recorded with a USB mic (Blue Yeti) so there's still some pops and cracks. The only editing was to add the explanation and cut out a few bad playing bits. Otherwise, untouched. Hope this helps.

I tried to futz with the settings because getting enough gain for that nice chugging sound ends up sounding bassy and oversaturated, but if I have a more reasonable level of gain it loses some of that chug. So you have the above video and this one with less gain. Again I apologize for not being a better shredder. I got this so I could learn some songs by people like Amon Amarth.

I agree. The Black Winter has a ton more clarity and sounds way better clean than the Distortion. What guitar are you considering the BW for?

I noticed that the bridge pickup of the BW has the conductor cable coming out from the slug coil instead of the lead coil, I freaked out at first, but seeing some pics online I see that this is how they are, is yours the same????
