When i called the sales department at Seymour Duncan they said that the only difference was that the Black winter had a larger magnet which made it have slightly more attack and adds more finger noise to your playing. Same wind just bigger mag

Can't be a bigger magnet, they both have 5mm ceramic mag, the DD has a single, the BW has triple. The DD Has a golden coloured insulation wire, and the BW has a reddish insulation wire, which is mainly why the sound different.

But I have a hunch that the wind pattern is slightly different, but I am no pickup expert.
