black winter

hi
I have a bc rich warlock guitar and I want to replace the stock pickups (neck and bridge) with a black winter set.
I have hh configuration, one tone, one volume, 3 way toggle switch and I want to replace my old 500k pots with push pull for volume and tone.
what is the best configuration from the listed below :

thanks.

Re: black winter

I would do individual coil splits with black winters.

You need to give it a day for everyone worldwide to see a post. Bumping it in just two hours isn't realistic to get a response.

Re: black winter

I have coil splits on my 7 string versions.

The neck is nice split, the bridge is meh. To me at least. To be honest, I'd only bother with splitting the neck if at all. The humbucker tones are much nicer overall.

Re: black winter

For example for the first link what are the combinations?
When i push the tone or volume pot the toggle switch is canceled?
Thanks and excuse me im totally out of this.

Re: black winter

I agree with the coil splits. I think it will give you a nice alternative sound to the full humbuckers.

Re: black winter

Personally I'd wire it like the classic Musicman JP: Bridge full humbucker, inner coils from bridge and neck in parallel, and neck full humbucker.

Super easy to do, works very well and very versatile! This also keeps all positions humcancelling \o/

Re: black winter

but for clean this option is not working very well.
for cleans if i split the neck pickup what is the best option : inner or outer coil of neck pickup?

Re: black winter

You can use 1 push pull to split 2 pickups. As far as which coil to use, it doesn't make that much of a difference in sound, actually.

Re: black winter

ok thanks for the answers
I have one last question before i proceed to solder anything
in this case http://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-1-volume-1-tone-coil-tap/
what is the options ?
1. full bridge
2. bridge and neck humbucker in parallel
3 full neck

with the push/pull activated ?
1. bridge humbucker one coil
2. one coil from bridge and one coil of neck in parallel
3. one coil from neck.

is this the options ?
thanks.

Re: black winter

If I read your post correctly, I believe what you said is correct, but to be clear, it looks like that drawing will give you the screw coils (the outside coils) of each pickup. Not saying that's good or bad, just noting the details. That's assuming I read the drawing correctly. Someone else can check me on that.

Re: black winter

I wired with one push/pull on tone pot.
The problem is that when the tone push pull is activated in the middle position on the toggle switch i have bridge humb single coil south (with screws) in paralel with neck single coil pickup (north slug pickup)
I expected to have inner or outer coil of neck and bridge pickups in the middle position
Is this a problem or should i leave it like that?
Thanks.

Re: black winter

I search for one wiring scheme but i not found .
Please give me one scheme for hh guitar, 1 volume , one tone pot with push pull and 3 way toggle switch
I want when the push pull in on ,on the middle position of toggle switch to have bridge screw coil in parallel with neck screw coil.
Or bridge slug coil in paralel with neck slug coil
Thanks.

black winter

Switch the neck wires on the push pull to be the same colors as the bridge. Though I think the idea of having bridge screw with neck slug is so that it's still humbucking in the middle position? (Someone check me on that; I haven't wired my guitars this way)

Re: black winter

yes is still humbucking and noise cancelling but i want in the middle pos of switch with push pull on to have singe coils in parallel identicaly <bribge and neck slug or screw>i wired like i said above and i dont know witch wires to swap.
