I think that now is probably the time to get into a blackface if you're going to be able to do it & hold it. They are becoming harder to come by, or more expensive. I am restoring a blonde '64 Baseman, and already it is looking like a profitable turnaround ( if I sell ).
Other than that, I'd follow whatever Lew says, 'cuz he knows old Fenders.
